Malia J - Smells Like Teen Spirit (Nirvana Cover, from opening title sequence of Marvel's Black Widow)
Person in front of me at fast food is slowest customer ever. Went back and forth to clarify order with presumably their kids over text messages (just freaking call!) then struggled for three minutes (at least) to pay with Samsung Pay. βThe person at drive through said you take that in here.β in full Karen mode. Complete with Karen hair.
GFDI, ThinkPad... I need to record a video demonstrating a pre-Windows-boot thing. So I get out my HDMI recorder. My test run everything works fine.
Once I actually start RECORDING, the ThinkPad's keyboard stops working when the HDMI recorder is active. Then when it's supposed to be mirroring, the internal screen is showing garbage. (I need to show physical device on camera, too.)
I guess I'll just be camera-recording the screen, rather than nice pristine HDMI output.
*sigh* Was on vacation for a week. There's a weekly production process that I'm the one who does. Because of contractual issues regarding encryption keys, we can't automate it - has to be triggered by a human putting in a YubiKey and typing a password.
My boss forgot to do it.
Of course last week was when there was an important fix in this version that the very client that insists on this process needed.

You know what I love? Having to add a three paragraph disclaimer to a two-sentence answer to a question on a forum, because I know someone will get all "Well ackchyuallyβ¦" on my answer with a massively pedantic "but it can do xyz if you jump through these thirty hoops first".
Because I *KNOW* if I don't add my disclaimer, I will get 2-3 replies being overly pedanticβ¦
Saw a post on LinkedIn ""When I started out in IT Networking 20+ years ago, I would never have believed that we would have 100GB ports, let alone that I would be holing one!!"
Uh, 20 years ago, 10GbE was actively being developed (finalized in 2002.) 20 years ago, I was working as a sysadmin at a very small company, and we had Gigabit. I knew 10GbE was on the horizon. 100GbE wouldn't have surprised me at all. (100GbE finalized in 2010.)
And we have 400GbE *NOW*, with 800GbE spec just finalized!
Ah, nothing like starting the day off with a 2.5 hour meeting that was only added to the calendar at 1 AM - and for which I *SHOULD* be unnecessary, but apparently the other people can't answer a bunch of questions on their own.
Oh, and this meeting was just to prepare for the 2 hour meeting that starts in 30 minutes...
Good thing my 10 AM meeting cancelled. (Although I really could have used them as an escape hatch from this one...)
Standard work discussion: Working out the actual real-world logistics of implementing IPoAC with a UDP audio stream of indeterminate length, in a completely automated fashion.
We figured out it would be possible with one bird passing through a "loop" (window) every 20 seconds, NFC tags on the birds, NFC reader/writer in the loop (window frame) - birds come in, get their packet read as they fly past, perch, get their NFC re-written, and prodded to fly back.
