@ecksmc really not too surprising. Some of the most toxic online communities I have come across over the last two decades were gaming communities. Eve Online used to have a major issue with it back when I was still playing and I can only imagine it has gotten worse in the years since I left.
It’s shit like this and also all of the gen alpha/genz alt right (actually fully extreme far right) podcaster networks ruining the minds of so many young people.

Old'in days you could but now they all video themselves and show themselves on cameras - that anonymity slowly fades eventually even if they don't
And yeah open mic pish is so annoying but that alone revels so much when the person forgets others can actually hear them lol things that aren't actually racist or disgusting either personal stuff
