@ecksmc It's not the first time that's happened. People are occasionally mistakenly declared dead, whether because their heart stopped or whatever. What makes the case you cite so egregious is that the program director tried to tell the surgical team to ignore the life signs and proceed anyway rather than try to help the patient. Some of the team, traumatized, resigned after the ordeal and the incident is under investigation.
