So, #Android hype is google and Android will be separated
🤔
The DoJ is considering splitting Android away from Google over antitrust concerns. If that happens you should probably buy an iPhone.
Google makes no money directly from Android. I'm not saying that having Android around isn't profitable for Google, but the cost of building, maintaining, hosting, and deploying a free smartphone operating system is astronomical, and the profit from doing it is zero.
Now till after all legal stuff is done away with, which will take a long while, it will be business as usual for Android. Also worth noting this isn't the first time this "threat" has happened and yet nothing came of it...Google will appeal, if needed, and they have the money for a lengthy fight after all Android is essential to Google getting all their free services on 7 out of 10 smartphone devices worldwide.
Long live Android 🤓
Simply put Google makes more money because Android exists.... Who will actually fund the development of Android if Google isn't in the picture as right now Android makes no profit whatsoever. So basically if Android does get split from google the Android team will have jobs but for how long, who will pay them, eventually there won't be an Android team working on security patches or development of new versions.
