So, Musk and his "free" Starlink offer for Hurricane hit parts in the US 🤔
Catch is it ain't free at all, Upon inspection, the offer of a free month of Starlink service seems to be the type of deal you might give a new customer, for anyone interested in taking up the offer they still have to pay $400 for the dish, including tax & shipping, and they're automatically rolled into a $120 a month contract when the "free" month ends
There’s also a comical logistical issue pointed out by The Register: You need to find a data connection to even order and activate the Starlink deal in the first place. “If you can get enough cellular signal to sign up now, you might wonder why you would wait weeks to be pulled into a paid-for satellite service.”

@ecksmc A billionaire's gotta billionaire. Musk doesn't seem to be the charitable type. In fact he's WEIRD!!!😊
@sazemisery full of hyperbolic bullshit he is
@ecksmc 🤬
@stueytheround "where some see chaos some see opportunity"
New customers is the opportunity
Sick individuals like him always claim they wanna help while grasping profit
@ecksmc charlatan inc
There are other problems with Musk’s offer. The Register has published a story investigating the free Starlink deal and traveled to Boone, North Carolina to see how it’s been received by locals. They interviewed a resident named Kinney Baughman who wasn’t thrilled.
