@ecksmc Peter Thiel is symptomatic of the problem with billionaires pumping tens of millions of dollars (or more) into political campaigns to promote their own interests.
In Thiel's case it's particularly disturbing. He's highly influential with tech billionaires (including Elon Musk), he's a citizen of four (possibly more) countries, and he's on record saying he no longer believes in democracy.
@ecksmc perhaps the only time he's ever been right about anything, and he's walking it back. But then the value of lots of things is highly volatile. Antiques, for instance.
