Google is launching “a more precise way for you to tune Gemini’s responses” on the web app
When selecting (by highlighting) a part of Gemini’s response to your prompt, a pencil/sparkle icon appears to “Modify selected text.” This opens a box with Regenerate, Shorter, Longer, and Remove options, as well as an open text field.
@ecksmc And when we help Google train their AI, what is it that we think we're accomplishing?
I'm trying to think of what benefit will come from helping Google with this.
It's not like Google is nice, and will send candy or health care. They're not building Gemini to help people, they're building it to make themselves more powerful, influential, and wealthy, and to have more ability to manipulate us.
I don't see why I'd assist with that. It feels like it would be an alignment deviation.
you cannot modify:
Any text in responses from extensions
Any text in responses where code was used to generate the result, like text in charts
Any text in responses that contain code blocks
Any selection that contains any images
