Junglist movement

Deep in the jungle where the bass is loud and hard the animals dance all night long

@ecksmc Interesting. First I thought Acid Queen, and then I heard the strong Jamaican accent.

@walterbays

it's old skool jungle from the 90's

jungle drum N bass was mostly North England's sound back then

@ecksmc Jamaican immigrants? Or I'm mistaking the accent?

I was disappointed when Acid Queen didn't stay together for even a second album. I followed some of the musicians and found Apoptygma Berserk, also interesting.

@walterbays breakbeat hardcore scene of the early 1990s was beginning to fragment by 1992/1993, with different influences

1992 and 1993, the phrases jungle techno and hardcore jungle proliferated to describe that shift of the music from breakbeat hardcore to jungle

you could equally make the case that jungle is a raved-up, digitized offshoot of Jamaican reggae Jungle’s specialised production, bass quake pressure and battery of extreme sonic effects, make it a sort of postmodern dub on steroids

@walterbays this is a good watch 👍
