Bluesky is back
Twitter’s natural heir is finally open to the public — and it has some big ideas for social networking

Finally, and perhaps the most concerning aspect, is that Bluesky doesn’t guarantee your data is secure. “Unfortunately, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you provide to us,” says section 6 under ‘Security of your information’.
Bluesky also says “It may attempt to notify you electronically by posting a notice on our Services, by mail, or by sending an email to you”, but doesn’t expressly say that it will.
@ecksmc this. This right here. People don't care about their data. But they do care about account control.
@ecksmc Also the TOS/PA specifically said of security they take "reasonable" precautions. They did not define reasonable, but when they asked for my phone number (not happening) for SMS validation I figured out what "reasonable" means to them - and it isn't good.
Bluesky also has the right to “terminate or suspend, in whole or in part, your access” to the platform at its “sole discretion, at any time and without notice to you”.
Interestingly, all requests to delete an account will be considered “on a case-by-case basis”, too.
