Proton VPN has been one of the best VPNs for years, but the experience has never quite been up to par with Proton VPN on Mac, Windows, or mobile platforms. That's now changing, as Proton is releasing a feature-complete version of its desktop app for Linux PCs.

If you want to check out the new desktop app, it's officially supported on Debian, Ubuntu, and Fedora.

@ecksmc I'm thinking of trying it after my current account lapses in another year or so, if I still need one. I've used stuff of theirs over the years here and there, and they've never offended against me that I know of. And I'm prickly.

@AskTheDevil Proton offer a good free version for the VPN also

worth trying before you commit

obvs you are limited with features using free version but it gives at least a guide as to the service and stability of the app
