Net neutrality is the principle that companies who provide access to the internet are not allowed to block or gate-keep that internet traffic. For example, net neutrality rules prevent your internet service provider from hypothetically slowing down your connection on Netflix in favor of Amazon Prime

On Monday, a new commissioner was sworn in, giving the FCC power and momentum to pursue net neutrality again. The time is ripe to bring back net neutrality, and a big show of support from the public will go a long way to telling regulators that this is the right thing to do.
