Twitter-like platforms amuse me
If you wanna build a platform for people to use don't compare it with another make it and make it unique people will come
@ecksmc we do need “counter social simple”, it’s a bit confusing when you first use this
@Ravavyr you can go into preferences and set "ostrich mode" on which will switch off the bells and whistles like CoSoTV, the news ticker, CoSoCom etc....to name a few if you're on desktop
On mobile devices via app or browser you don't have they bells and whistles for some it's better
Personally i do like using desktop version and always liked it from day 1 but i was a long tweetdeck user so used column set ups
@ecksmc lol ostrich mode, I’ll check it out. Yea the interface reminds me of tweetdeck. It’s not bad, and i get its a small dev team with limited resources, but UI/UX is hugely important for getting nontech folks on board. Assuming they want every day folk from twitter to move here.
@ecksmc i agree, it’s just that that is exactly what all of us bird app migrants are going to do for the next few months lol
@ecksmc yea i definitely see that, i do think it has too many bells and whistles that make it hard for the "average joe" to get the hang of it before they give up.
We'll see how it goes :) I'm liking it so far.
