older chromebook users
have you ever noticed after almost every chrome os update things keep crashing
i use a lot of PWAs for sites and after every update over past year all PWAs crash when i'm inside chrome doing other things
open the task manager and "end process" for google assistant utility worker < even though i have assistant switched OFF via settings that process always starts up after i switch chromebook of/on again
posted this article the other day
about some chromebooks models
mine is an acer chromebook BUT i don't have Android app function
yesterday i was also seeing/getting a pop-up at top of my PWAs the "unresponsive" alert thingy
PWAs should only use a lil more CPU usage than normal tabs inside chrome use
chrome tabs only use between 10-20% depending on what site is open inside a tab
CoSo usually uses 25% to 35% from previous checks i have done although it's something i haven't really kept an eye on before
@ecksmc Have you tried Gallium os on chromebook? I've heard good things.. 👍
@jordicusmaximus i have in the past
usually use crouton myself for installing a linux distro
Gallium OS is ranked 1st while Crouton & Kali Linux is ranked 6th
the crashes still happen but not as often and they seem to ease/stop the more as i use my chromebook after each update
it's a pain in the arse
i updated ChromeOS yesterday and noticed some PWAs using 90% CPU also some have even jumped past 100% CPU
i am keeping an eye on this
