advice sought. Over past few years have watched and enjoyed many series with widely varying genres, eras, and plots. One common theme in many is women struggling against sexist society to be individuals, including shows from America, England, Indonesia, Israel, Korea, Poland, Scotland, Turkey. I sadly realize these are probably accurate about the societies and eras portrayed.

A few series portray women as equal humans, from Denmark, Mexico, Norway, Ukraine. Can anyone recommend other such series? Not looking for preachy shows about the evils of patriarchy. Just women in a time and place where they are equals.

Thanks.

@walterbays I've been enjoying Bodies on Netflix. It takes place in four time lines/periods, but even the ones in the past (1890, 1941) are pleasantly egalitarian. The entire focus of the story is the central mystery, and which characters are women has no bearing on anything. They're all complex, human characters, trying to solve an increasingly batshit set of murders.

@ealasaid Thank you! 🌟

Btw, People of Earth was interesting in that Wyatt Cenac was cast in the lead role of journalist, NOT in the lead role of Black journalist. I'm sure the casting call didn't ask for Black actors but for actors. Race wasn't hidden but wasn't a plot element. I wish they'd do that more, and when a character's gender is irrelevant, don't specify that either.

I wish we all wouldn't obsess in real life over things when they're irrelevant.😥
