Mornin' CoSo fam!! π
Y'all alright today?
My illustration I'd like to share this morning is considered a milestone for me because I have an aversion toward painting with the color pink π . It always clashed with my palette, until this!

@athenacooper Thank you Athena πππ And right? Pretty color on its own but for some reason I can never figure out how to make it work in my compositions lol. Red either most of the time
@athenacooper Oooooooh that is an /excellent/ theme. π€― Most people would choose blues with chillier tones to define 'dark/challenging/uncertain times' , but your red hue evokes these emotions in another angle. It's refreshing. Have you considered adding contrasting shadow from an object to make it 'pop' the way you need to? π§
@duckysoba Mmm, not sure yet. I think I need to get the lights all in first. Iβve progressed since I took that photo and currently Iβm having issues with the scaling of the lights closer to the viewer as opposed to the ones on the far side of the balcony.
For me, the red = foreboding and danger. The job I had back then made me aware of COVID and supply chain issues months before most people. There was this rising sense of βitβs coming and itβs gonna be bad.β
@duckysoba Definitely. Iβm playing with this idea in my exhibit plan of having different colours as more dominant at different points in the timeline. For the pandemic years Iβm trying to amp up the red/deep magenta/burnt sienna in the paintings. This one is unfinished and still trying to get that red brick wall to fall in better behind the Christmas lights. π€ #art #CoSoArtists
