@jasod I would ask: What can you do locally? The turmoil in this nation may be national, but the battles are fought locally: school boards, city halls, state legislatures
I get it. What do we do about the rise of violent nationalism? the surging moral panics? widespread intolerance and injustice?
We fight these like a nation-wide fire. Everyone everywhere puts out the fires where they are.
Will this work? I don't know. I hope so. Never let what you can't do blind you to what you can.
@jasod Is it enough? I don't know. Some days I think it's probably not.
Still, even if america collapses into a dystopian black hole, i'd give the same advice.
Be kind. Help ppl. Change the gov when you can. Push back when you can't. Try to build a better place.
You may not see result today, or this year, or even in your lifetime.
Hell, a significant % of ppl in this country want me dead bc of what i think and believe, but i'd rather die trying to do good, than hiding in a bunker.
@dmself I completely agree with this and do so. Local is my reach, but considering the hellscape of some of the other places, is that enough? Is there something I am missing that I could be doing?
