Following on a convo with @disk4mat about not recalling where our friends are in the world, I would love it if someone more clever than I would make this happen.
What if there was an interactive CoSo map that folx could voluntarily put in where they live? I just came across this site that will pinpoint location for you. I didn't use my actual home, which I never do on mapping apps! but someplace public that's very close.

@countZZero @wolfwoman @disk4mat Perhaps something less intrusive but more informative about CoSo would be a map generated by @th3j35t3r of the locations of all CoSo users over the past 24 hours, to augment the user metrics in the network statistics.
I can understand why we make it optional to provide location info, and it would be nice to know where someone is, but we don't have a real need to know. DM someone and ask them if they want to share that info.

I'm just an idea generator and seldom follow through.
As an aside: I'm far less secretive here than anywhere before or currently online, because I trust this space. I feel comfortable sharing my town/state/country for the fun of comparing weather and customs, etc. I figure whatever someone wants to keep private they will, and I wouldn't DM anyone over that. But that's just me.
@wolfwoman @countZZero @disk4mat @th3j35t3r Likewise for me, and I use my real name, but I don't think we should should ask for people's location as a materr of course. Some people choose to show their nationalities via flags in their handles. They could add their state flags if so inclined.

I actually agree with you on this. I have shared my city with others but am less inclined to now that more people are joining. I use the Canadian flag.
