Judge Aileen Cannon is planning on holding a sprawling hearing on Donald Trump’s request to declare Jack Smith’s appointment as special counsel invalid, signaling the judge could be more willing than any other trial judge to veto the special prosecutor’s authority.

Cannon on Tuesday said that a variety of political partisans and constitutional scholars not otherwise involved with the case can join in the oral arguments on June 21.

@disk4mat

She knows there's a SC seat with her name on it in a Trump admin.....

@waywardflf @disk4mat

She;s barely qualified to be a district judge, why would anyone think the Senate would confirm her to the Supreme Court?

And who's she supposed to be replacing?

This makes about as much sense as saying that "there's a Supreme Court seat" for Rudy Giuliani.

If Trump wins it is likely Thomas and/or Alito will resign and the senate in rep control will put whoever they choose in the supreme court. That is my take on it.

@disk4mat

Or perhaps the liberal justices will be targeted to make room. I can't imagine those (A,T) on that special gravy train will want to give up the considerable freebies they so richly enjoy.
