πŸ¦… A surprising photo taken by photographer David Canales near Prince William Sound in Alaska, showing a rather unusual situation - the heroic seagull is trying to save another representative of his species from the murderous claws of a flying eagle.

i saw a couple of young ravens messing with an eagle once in Juneau. The ravens were flying close by, being jerks and dive bombing the eagle.

one of the ravens stooped down on the eagle, and the big bird rolled over, there was a blast of activity and feathers...raven didn't survive.

What a sight that would have been to see. We don't always think of the bad things for birds when we see them flying and wish we could too.

Hard to catch some of those great shots with a camera.

@disk4mat @northernbassist the first time I saw an eagle up close it was dumpster diving at a cannery. Them suckers are huge.

Funny story: when we lived in Oak Harbor, WA I was sitting at my sewing machine and could feel something looking at me. Looked up, out the window into the woods, and there was a Golden Eagle 20 feet away looking at me. They make Bald Eagles look tiny.
