@peeppeepcircus Allensworth is an unincorporated community in Tulare County, California. Established by Allen Allensworth in 1908, the town was the first in California to be founded, financed, and governed by African-Americans. what's amazing in it history, is how Allensworth's white neighbors withheld water from it in order to starve out a historic and thriving African-American community right out of existence. weaponized water + racism = part of the ugly history and legacy of and that still happens to this day. i.e. tooleville.

also, the farmer who just illegally cut a levee in order to flood Allensworth instead of whatever-his-stupid-farm-is is that ugly.
