not a bug - I was mistaken to think it would work
@mcfate I can "SEE" my coso account from mastodon dot social but it says "withdraw follow request" and I don't see any such "follow request" here on CoSo.
I'm totally unsurprised a cross-Federation follow doesn't work, but as I said, it's the successful search I find perplexing.
Worse still, you don't have a "Pro" account, so I'd think web access to your profile should be impossible, but no.
Unless I'm missing some nuance here.

No, it's the "CoSo can be searched from Mastodon" part that I'm not convinced is meant to be happening.
