Important reminder, given the absolute circus of horrid behaviour and utter incompetence we're about to witness in American politics...
Don't waste your time/energy and ruin your emotional well-being getting outraged at every single bull**** controversy. That's precisely what they want.
It's probably healthier to simply hate the corrupt, idiotic crooks' guts a constant amount regardless of the current controversy. As needed, remind yourself that the non-stop controversy is their smokescreen.
The way I'd suggest handling it is... set the constant amount of hatred (directed at the circus of fascist loony bins currently preparing to take power) as high as you need to, such that nothing they do could get a rise out of you or make it any worse.
Doing that can make a person effectively immune to the outrage machine and to the non-stop emotional whiplash that is characteristic of someone like TFG being in power.
And remember: many, perhaps even most, of the people who voted for those lunatics were duped - they gave into confirmation bias, which made them see exactly what they wanted to see & nothing else.
Those who end up realizing they've been had will be VERY ANGRY.
They're as much victims as anyone else, even though they did play a role in the fascists' rise to power, & for democracy to prevail... you'll need to get as many of them as possible on your side, holding pitchforks with the best of you.
