I posted a song from one of my favorite singers (Perla Batalla) a few days ago.
And wow. Got a surprise today.
Just found out she's releasing a new album on September 21, the day prior to what would have been Leonard Cohen's 90th birthday (she collaborated and sang with Cohen for more than 20 years).
This preview video was released 3 days ago. Here's her cover of "Democracy"

Today's song is for A Magical Isle.
For whatever reason it was playing in my head when I woke up this morning.
Here's "Kalynda" by Renaissance.
Damn. Rest in peace, John Mayall. {sniff}

This one I felt compelled to create.
Why does the (intentional?) mispronunciation of a famous name by a particular segment of the US population bother me so?
Embarrassing and odd.
Have you ever looked at something for years and then realized later that you had completely missed its details?
I've owned and listened to Supertramp albums since I was a teenager. Recently I was looking at the Breakfast in America cover and realized that I *never* noticed that the generically shaded cityscape in the background is actually made up of dishes and breakfast-related items.
What a maroon I am!
I want this track to be at least three times longer. So smooth!

Project 2025 will kill you. Yes, you. Sections 1-5 (of 30).
This is my in-depth analysis of the actual writings in the published parts of #Project2025. There's even worse stuff not yet published.
You all know me as a musician and car-carrying liberal, but I also have family ties to the people who came up with this shit. These are not good people.
Share the post, please. This is so goddamned bad.

(typing too fast!)
In his Book of Drugs, he talks about meeting a girl he fell for, who refused to give her name because it was very Nordic, and claimed she had the Most Unsingable Name in the World.
Unsingable Name

@CanisPundit just posted some lovely Linda Ronstadt, and for some reason whenever I listen to her I always think next of Perla Batalla. So now I'm on a very LOUD Perla Batalla jag (thanks, Canis!)
There are a few reasons why they're associated in my head (including their glorious renditions of Mexican roots music), but mostly it has to do with both of them having amazingly powerful pipes.
I used to think that all it would take for republicans to start supporting gun safety measures (including better screening) would be for some of them to experience an active event. Maybe getting pinned down in a Walmart, crying and screaming, clutching their loved ones while relieving themselves on the floor.
I can see now that I was naïve.
