Ahh, Jellyfish. Such an amazing band.

"She dots her eyes with a smiley face
A work of art in all but taste"

Here is "The King is Half-Undressed" (wish the audio quality of this video were better, though - check them out on music services if you dig this)

Some days I want Gojira and Mastodon. Or Blotted Science.

Today is not one of those days. This piece is delicate, lyrical and beautiful. For those times when you're not in a heavy mood, check out the whole album. Recommended.

Here is "God if I Saw Her Now" by Anthony Phillips and some friends (from the album "The Geese and the Ghost")

For more by this duo, look for Frank Harris and Maria Marquez. Definitely worth the search. Here's another example for a dreamy Sunday morning:

In the late 90's a mysterious CD was released that became a legend for audiophiles. The mystery part was that the artists were not credited, so it took awhile to figure out who they were. The legend part was the engineering that created a huge sonic space bringing out the best in high-end stereo gear.

Here is the first cut from that CD, "Canto Del Pilon" by Daboa

(not as good as a CD recording, obviously)

Code's eclectic music pick of the day:

Bob Curnow's L.A. Big Band came out with their first album of Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays music almost 30 years ago. If you dig Metheny's band at all, you might enjoy the recast of their hits for a big band. I know that I do. Also, anytime Wayne Bergeron and Bobby Shew are involved, count me in.

Here is Time Traveler's vessel by Tilo Weber (with Petter Eldh and Elias Stemeseder)

A bonus pick for today. These three artists are not only at the top of their game here, they're flying high above nearly everything else.

Even if you think you're not into (or jazz with rock underpinnings or jazz with classical jags) you can't deny the pure magic being cooked on this stage.

It's The Trio Project (Hiromi Uehara, Anthony Jackson and Simon Phillips)with "Flashback"

If there is such a thing as meditative prog, this would be in the playlist. Here is Quiescent by The Fine Constant. Let it tickle the meat-eddies of your brain.

It's good to be good and it's fun to be fun"

Posted previously, but hey - it's in my head right now, so:

The things you say
Held on forked tongue, behind enamel cage
I thought you’d changed
But deep within you’re still the same

"Kijo" by Memorist

...hearing the unison trumpets in that last song reminded me to go back and give a listen to an old favorite. Back in the 8th grade, this is the song that inspired me to pick up the sax.
