@codeWhisperer I don't know if you noticed but the magic square under the bell shows the year of origin 1514 (which is also the year his mother died).

My grandmother loved Dürer for a totally different reason, though.

@codeWhisperer As a teenager, I was big-time into mathematics. In a seminar about the construction rules for magic squares, this engraving came up as an example in art. Good teachers make these cross-references.
