Looking for a bit of for verifying websites in profiles. I've been conversing with another CoSo user who is also trying, but we can't seem to make the website verification for profile metadata do anything. We've both added the anchor tag in question to our sites (I've had mine in place for at least 2 or 3 weeks) but not seeing any sort of verification symbol. Should there be one?

Just a quick update: It's now been 11-12 days and nothing I can see (in logs) has reached out yet to query the URL's.

@codeWhisperer

Same for me. I'm used to the green verification checkmark that lets me know the tag worked. And I placed the tag as I have successfully done before, so I know how to do it.

Let me know if you get an answer.

Thanks.

@heyrhiannon @Rabon Thanks for that feedback. However, I don't use Wordpress. :-) And I've double checked both my embed and then checked the website of the user I was talking to about it... both seem fine when I view source to check for it.

@codeWhisperer @Rabon
I boosted your post, someone with more knowledge than myself will probably chime in, I know some people were having issues but I'm not sure how they were resolved.

@codeWhisperer @Rabon
Sadly, though, despite that lovely endorsement by @heyrhiannon (you're too kind, but thank you), I have to admit, I cannot determine what is happening with verification. I've got verification from about 4 or 5 months ago on one page of my WordPress site, but not on a different page on the same site I tried to add as a test example a month or so back (or any additional since). I don't know why. The code is embedding fine, but no check.

@FernLovebond @Rabon @heyrhiannon @th3j35t3r I've tried a few things on my end, including bypassing cloudflare for now (in case CF was blocking), temporarily modifying some firewall blocks, changing the URL and observing the web server logs, adding a second URL, etc.
At the moment, I am not seeing any hits other than my own, but perhaps CoSo does not verify the links in near-real-time (maybe it runs only once a day or similar), so I'll keep watching my server.

@FernLovebond @Rabon @heyrhiannon @th3j35t3r (and just for general troubleshooting info, I realize that one of my links does not currently include the CoSo tag, it is there only so that I can watch my server logs)

@codeWhisperer

Aye, I thot the script for verification was periodic, so I kept leaving my code intact, just in case, but after weeks it hadn't worked (since the DOS attacks in Oct/Nov). I assumed it must have been a casualty of the server upgrades and DOS stuff, but then someone else posted "mine worked for one link but [blah]" and he said it had been done hours before that, so now IDK what to think.

@FernLovebond Just a general update on this topic, I'm still monitoring the logs and thus far do not see hits. Does anyone have any idea how often (or when) the link checker task runs on CoSo?
