@TwiHusband I love this whole album. One of my faves.
@codeWhisperer ELO was my all-time fave band. I loved "Fire On High."
@TwiHusband I really 100% understand and agree. We are in the same tribe. ELO was the first album I purchased with my own money, and to this day remains sacred to me. Even Jeff Lynne's solo albums and other efforts (Traveling Wilburys and earlier work in The Move) are important to me.
@codeWhisperer War of the Worlds. #sigh
@TwiHusband Not sure I understand this one... did he perform on the War of the Worlds soundtrack?
@codeWhisperer Oh, you poor deprived soul. War of the Worlds the rock opera. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YwFvmnbj3E&list=PLFV_pTSMduaURY4rVeOeWDCIWcgdAW7PZ
@TwiHusband Ah. I know about that (and it is on my playlist, but that is Jeff Wayne, correct?)
@codeWhisperer Yep, by Lynne and the band had a piece of it.
@TwiHusband I did not know that. I've looked for info on that but could not find anything.
@codeWhisperer 70's and 80's produced a hell of a lot of music and collaborations that few people remember.
@TwiHusband BTW, definitely NOT not attempting to argue with you, I'd be THRILLED to learn that Jeff Lynne had something to do with that album. 🙂
I also found this:
http://www.jefflynnesongs.com/notjeff.htm
which states that Lynne has no connection, but I guess one can never be too sure about things unless they were actually involved in the project(s). Also, I am unsure who Robert Porter is , so no telling. 😆
@codeWhisperer Interesting. Urban legend maybe? If it is, I'll bow to superior information.
I grew up thinking that a parsec was the distance between our sun and Alpha Centauri. I learned today that it's not.
@TwiHusband Who knows? Since Lynne is still around and kicking I guess we could ask him. 🙂
Ah parsec, yeah that's a tricky one. Both Astronomical Unit (A.U.) and "parsec" are Earth-specific distances, so if we want to join the galactic (and extra-galactic) society we should really use more universal measurements. At least in this universe.
@TwiHusband 🤣
