Although getting harder to find, I love bookstores. And whenever I go to a bookstore I always end my visit with the science fiction section. It's my favorite. Much like saving the icing on a cupcake for last.
For the last few decades, when I am in that section, I am always sure to check anything from Benford, Bear, Egan, Kube-McDowell, Sheffield, Reynolds and Vinge.
Which is why I am sad today.
Greg Bear has passed on.
Rest in peace, Greg, and thank you for your stories.

i love bookstores. they were always so comforting to just hang out in. sit on the floor in my fave section & spend an afternoon amongst books. there's not many around anymore, are there?
