I have a question for the #writingcommunity.
My fiction editor has opted out of my project due to unforeseen circumstances.
Therefore, I'm searching for a new fantasy copy editor able to start this May or June.
I'd prefer to work with someone recommended by a fellow writer, but I'll solicit on Reedsy, Fiverr, Upwork, etc., if need be.
I intend to self-publish as I have done with my prior books. I can provide more details as needed. Thanks in advance for your help.
I input the description of a creature from my novel into an AI art generator, and below is the version that most matched my imagination, although not so cartoonish. Plus, I specified "short tail" so I'd hate to see a long one! ๐
As expected, AI seems to create imaginary creatures via hybrid mashups of known animals, as "Lion-headed white ape" was nowhere in my description ๐ค #writing #writingcommunity #writers #AIArt
Currently on my 10th re-read of my work-in-progress fantasy novel.
Without jinxing myself, I received my first complete beta reader comments, and they were very encouraging! ๐ค
After my first book, a reader said it needed a map. I've included them in all my books since. The one below is the work-in-progress for my forthcoming fantasy novel.
I'm soliciting beta readers for my new fantasy/sci-fi novel. If any #CoSo folks are interested in critiquing my book, I'd be honored to get your feedback on my final draft.
Synopsis:
Tempestuous volcanoes threaten to transform Fiegardia into a frozen wasteland. When treachery upends the realm, three improbable companions undertake a desperate pilgrimage to the fickle God of Death. Will their epic journey end in salvation, or damnation?
This book. Wow. It's not an emotionally easy read, but well worth the effort.
Starting the readthrough of the 8th draft of my work-in-progress fantasy/sci-fi novel this morning. Hoping it will be my last read-through before going to beta readers (and finally an editor) next year.
Posting this here to keep myself honest & on-schedule. Cheers & peace to you all.
Can't believe it's been six years since I self-published my last book (and that I've been working on my next one that long!) I'm almost as bad as GRRM. ๐
My goal is next year for book #4. ๐ค
Number 4๏ธโฃ in 2024!
Working on editing capitalization for royal titles and lands in my WIP. Ugh! I need a break, Your Majesty!
Edited four chapters of my WIP this morning. Happy with that, and hopefully more to come. ๐ค
Finished the 3rd draft of my WIP fantasy novel. Using a Program called Pro Writing Aid to identify my mistakes (will ultimately use beta readers and a human editor).
Currently on Chapter 50 of 66. Surpassed 100,000 words, and then fell back below it with surgical edits.

Working on edits/revisions to Chapter 58 of 66. Closing in on 100,000 words. Feels good.

Amazon Ads is confounding. It's akin to gambling while blindfolded. Almost counterintuitive. ๐ฆ
At this point in my WIP novel, my characters are in the frigid cold.
I'm really having to use my imagination. ๐
Can you believe I actually got some #writing done this morning? Not a lot, mind you, but some.
Is "Too hot to write a thing?" ๐ค Because I think I'm experiencing it. ๐
I've added seven chapters to the first draft of my 4th fantasy novel, hence, turning it into a second draft.
Hard to predict how many more chapters the 3rd draft will entail, but I suspect a few. Would like to have it ready for an editor by the end of the year, but time is flying, as usual.
(Posting this more as a tool to hold myself accountable and use it as an internal anti-slacking mechanism. Sorry, my brain is weird.)
My latest blog topic is Amazon's recent price increase for paperbacks.

Getting close to finishing the initial read-through of the 1st draft of my latest fantasy novel. Excited to add some polish and get started on the second round of editing. Not that you were wondering! ๐ Sometimes it just feels good to report progress milestones.
