If you enjoyed Werner Herzog's 'Cave Of Forgotten Dreams,' a very strong recommendation for 'Unknown: Cave Of Bones' on Netflix, documenting the discovery and investigation of a large find of early hominid fossils in 2013 near Johannesburg, South Africa.

Paleoanthropologist Lee Berger discovered a new hominid species in the cave, dating back to between 250--330,000 years ago. Homo naledi exhibited ritual mortuary behavior only found in one other species, Homo sapiens.
