Any archaeology buffs here on CoSo who could give me some help with identifying this NC Indian artifact?
I found this decades ago at a construction site east of Asheville, NC. It was on an excavated hillside just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, 3'-6' below the surface.
Arrowhead? Spearpoint?
🤔

@cjtownsend
Spear blade.

If you want to know more, turn it in to an archaeologist. Be prepared for a scolding.

@marshalldillon Hmmmm... 🤔
I guess I could have just left it where it was, have it bulldozed into a level ground surface and covered with asphalt and concrete block foundations for condos...

@cjtownsend in my neighborhood, when artifacts are found, construction is halted until experts have reviewed the find. That's why reporting is critical.
