I was the 1st family member born in the US. My twin followed 19 minutes later. My parents/older siblings immigrated as Displaced Persons & were stateless. Bigots called us "Dirty DPs" back then & yelled at us to "Go back where you came from!". What's it like being raised in that environment & by people who experienced fascism? FEAR. My entire childhood was based on fear & keeping secrets because the wrong people might hear you. Kick fear & creeping fascism to the curb on Tuesday.
