@TrueBloodNet That’s because they taste best fresh off the vine when they’re still warm from the sun. That’s how I liked to eat them when I had a garden.

@TrueBloodNet I’ve never been able to grow cucumbers. I love them fresh from the garden. The stuff they sell in stores just isn’t as good. The store I got the tomatoes from is connected to a farm so they sell fresh fruits and veggies from their farm. Much better. And I did see some cukes there so next time I go!
@cjcrew ITA and I eat the skins of my home grown cukes but not store bought ones. Plus all my home grown cukes are bumpy LOL

@TrueBloodNet They wax the skins of the cukes they sell in the store, ruins them.
@cjcrew The secret to growing cukes is to wrap the bottom couple inches in a stretchy sports type tape to prevent vine borers and plant many.
@TrueBloodNet I don’t even try to garden where I live. We have so much wildlife in the neighborhood the plants would be eaten before they had a chance to grow. I’d need to completely cage in the garden, even then the neighbors big ass groundhogs would get them from the bottom.
