The only thing worse than having a man your age or older call you “hon” or “sweetie” is having a man young enough to be your grandson call you that.

@ReneeVoiceBrand 😂🤣👍. I have to remember that one, that is awesome.

@cjcrew I use a high-pitch 'girly' voice when I say 'okay cupcake'😍

@cjcrew

Stick with “ma’am.” Way more professional, just as annoying, nothing that anyone can complain about at any age. 😹

@amarand Yep, when they call me ma’am though, I’m old enough to not take offense because I am that age and then some.

@cjcrew

What’s funny is when a young adult calls a teen “ma’am.” 😹

@amarand I’ve been working with the public since I was 16, it was strange to have someone call me
Ma’am at first but you get used to it after 50 years.

@cjcrew

I started at 12 with a paper route. I’ve always been a “sir/ma’am” guy, for the tips initially. 😹

@amarand I started using it when I started in restaurants, specially as a cashier and/or waitress. Continued when I veered off into retail. Almost lost it when I worked for a nasty supervisor at MSU, unless
I was using it sarcastically or when dealing with a client. Can’t be mean to clients.

@amarand I’ll do that if they are waiting on me. I think they deserve the respect, especially from us older folk. Can’t expect respect if you don’t give it.

@disk4mat 😂 Fortunately for all the bad psychological issues my parents gave us they also gave us really good genes. I’m constantly being asked to provide ID when I tell people my age. I look much younger than I am.

The downside of that is my brothers still expect me to have the energy and strength I had 20 years ago.

@disk4mat I’ve never been called that, been called a few names is blush to say in front of my mom, but not that.
