So there's a company that put in self-checkouts, cut front staff, measured usage & dinged stores that rang up a high % of customers with cashier. Then they forbade any signs directing the customers to the self-checks so the only thing to do was suggest it, which pisses people off. Store gets dinged for surveys below a 9. Now, they realize that there's nobody in the front of store so one person has to stay at all times, even when there's only payroll for one person on an 8-10 got shift.

@chuck34108 I have a thought. They should have enough staff and pay them a living wage.
They have no problem gouging us on prices for revenue. How about including service. 🙄

@Superstitionsee I have no problem with self-checks, progress is supposed to free us up from simple tasks. What I despise is the conflicting & constantly changing metrics. Corporate stupidity runs rampant

@chuck34108 Yeah, I’m admittedly old school. I’m still not crazy about self-checkout. Most places that offer it do not offer lower prices to offset the inconvenience, and I don’t want to work at their store. Plus, I’ve always got some item that won’t scan, scans wrong, won’t take my bills or I’m buying alcohol and someone needs to come over anyways.
I’m more concerned with corporate greed running rampant.
There is a place for simple jobs close to home. 🤷
