Virtual show of hands:

How many here have read something true on a social media site like twitter, and thought, "That can't be true" -- then went to independent news media site only to have it confirmed?

If all the shit that is going on were in a movie, I would have turned it off as not being believable.

We have "leaders" calling a pandemic a hoax while rule of law is being shredded in front of political hacks looking to Nov.

We are way past the tipping point to real this all back in.

If we are a democracy
- Why do we never vote for VP?
- Why do we allow party leaders to determine who candidates are? Seriously, in a democracy, why isn't the candidate pool all eligible citizens? Democracy needs no gate keepers.
- Why are special interest groups (parties) invested in government structure and elections?
- Why can't people see that vote blue no matter who is just more party before country?
- Why are there superstates?
- Why did good candidates drop out before voters had a say?

Hey, I heard from a Bird that we don't care about wimmins here. Hopefully whoever it was that didn't like it here will not let the door hit 'em where the good lord split 'em.

@Konj probably me. Even though I don't know you... good night!

@Tb12 Getting on all the state ballots would be a big job, tho.

I have good news, at least for me. The "lost for 20 days plz file a claim" Martin D-28 my dad sent me (Fedex) arrived today with no warning or fanfare. They sent it back to AZ, probably thinking that I was the shipper, because we used my account to pay for the shipping. But now I will be able to sleep without worrying about my dad having an aneurysm or beating the shit out of the next FedEx guy he sees... (the label had been damaged...)

@th3j35t3r All you learn from success is you don't have to work or pay attention to the details. Arguably this is "learning" but it's the wrong lesson.

@RandomUsr Failure rates are way down, but I guess it depends on your budget and data requirements. I'm a dinosaur still not keeping much in "The Cloud" since I don't trust those melonfarmers.

@RandomUsr My company runs databases on standard RAIDs, spinny platters and all. You can RAID SSD too, sort of - to protect against loosing a drive, though SSD is more reliable than magnetic. But if your stuff is already in a VM, just make sure you back up that VM regularly.

Scrubbed. Dangit. I didn't realize those launch windows were so very short! 5 minutes!
