Friends. My wife of 42 years, is about to be transferred to the Hospice unit if the hospital that’s been taking care of her since Thursday.
Our visit to the drs. Wednesday revealed a mass growing in her brain. She had a terrible early Thursday morning, and I called 911. The staff at the local hospital, after examining her, immediately air evaced her to El Paso, where drs. performed a procedure to relieve intercranial pressure. 1/2

Pathology from samples taken during the procedure revealed a Stage 4 glioma. It’s in her left temporal lobe, and is between 20–25% of her brain size. She has been unresponsive since the procedure.
The surgeon and neurologist both believe that even if she survives, that she will never ever be the same. Substantial impact on her ability to speak, understand, hear, and see.
She has a DNR. She’s also an organ donor, so that’s being addressed.
it’s all been so fast...
