I thought the distinguishing factor was the pinned "sandwich" grip without a (true) pommel and one edge, not the nagel.

@Jeast I think all of those things, and come on I did mention the single edge. My Fechtschule has a few 'messers but I mostly missed those classes this year, before they shut down the college. Maybe next year.
