Lol, friend of mine was excited to see his family tree goes back to the 1500's

Got less excited to see it does not brach very much for a few generations.

@sheseala Likely we're all like that. but genetics is that at 10 generations you have over 1000 ancestors (modulo pedigree collapse) and my family is at 6 generations in 1775. So your friend is looking at over 12 gens, back that far. It's a wash.

@chakaal Oh yeah, but he had a set that if the chart is to be believed, had a brother-sister pairing and their parents were first cousins.

But yeah there's going to be overlap when you got that far back.
