One of the more interesting events unfolding in the Airline industry right now is the unraveling of SouthWest Airlines.
After the era dominated by its co-founder and CEO, Herb Kelleher, SouthWest is now starting to resemble other airlines.
One of the reasons is that the airline has become the victim of an activist stockholder ambush. A hedge fund has been buying up stock, and now has enough percentage to get on the board and start trying to remove the existing leaders.
