Washington Post is reporting that Trump will name Rubio as Sec of State. That means in 2026, we have a chance to flip a senate seat.
@mikeharmanos Think about the chaos that will ensue in just two years with Trump. Not entirely off the table.
As far as I can tell, Florida law allows the governor to appoint a Senator who serves until the next scheduled general election–which, in this case, would be until 2028.
I can easily imagine DeSantis naming *himself* to fill the vacancy, being tin-eared and shameless (which makes him popular in Florida).
