If you go out in heat & feel exhausted when you get inside:

1. Drink 8-oz water in small sips to gently cool body.
2. Drink 4 oz fruit juice, fruit smoothie, or--better yet--Gatorade/Powerade. You need to replenish electrolytes because they left in sweat.
3. Dampen a washcloth or small towel with cool water. Sit where you can lay head comfortably on arms. Put the cloth on back of neck until refreshed.
4. Drink more water gradually, not exceeding 80 oz.
5. ALCOHOL WORSENS DEHYDRATION. AVOID IT.
