@thewebrecluse Have you been to your local Community Action Agency? They have many assistance resources for homeowners who are down on their luck. Also, if there are children or anyone with a disability, contact your local DHHS. Food assistance alone saves me about $50-100 per shopping trip, depending on the length of time between trips. Also, there is absolutely no shame in going to food pantries and thrift stores.
@caaddison88 Thanks. We're renters. No kids. No disabilities. I had tried looking into assistance years ago but we collectively made plenty of money to stay afloat and just out of the range of "qualifying for help". We're sort of that class of "working poor" ... sadly there isn't much help out there for us. But I really do appreciate the advice.
