Happy Friday night!
You look nice today.

The simple pleasure of watching the robotic trucks that wander our city street casually consume our residential refuse.
The joys of knowing the detritus of my personal economic activity keeps those machines employed and well fed.
But do they work for us, in taking the trash, or do we work for them, in producing it?
(Yes, I'm aware it's just some guys in a truck but the fiction helps me get through the day, and it's still fun to watch the arm lift the cans)

Timezone-appropriate greeting this timezone-appropriate day.

The trauma that is the Christmas lights continues. Half the lights on my artificial are out.

And I seem to be out of spare bulbs.

Warm blueberry pie, ice cream, and tea.

This is the part where we go buy . . .

Doorknobs

I do believe my offshore co workers just pinged me to test my response time at 9 PM EST.
And now they are scrambling because in addition to their fake emergency, I discovered to other problems that they now have to deal with without my assistance cause it's OS issues. Not my scope.

At a certain level I am waiting for my email to again become a useful tool.

Well it seems we are passing on the outside Christmas lights this year. Of the 20 net light I had, only 4 actually worked.
And that was after spending most of the morning getting the strings of lights working.

At the intersection of Black Friday/consumer culture hate and mass casualty copy cat hoaxes.

Shocked waking up this morning to news of another shooting. I used to work near the Chesapeake Walmart. I remember it being built. I'm just stunned. Clearly not the news I expected this morning.

Enjoying the absurdity of playing a game on an older PC over the network on my 10" tablet, just because it amused me. Surprisingly playable, but also hard on the eyes after a long day of console jockeying.

The rest of the evening will be featuring a blank stare.
The end of this workweek can't come fast enough.

It seems I am losing my ability to have empathy for people who ask for help and then refuse to participate in the process of getting them help.
