The tantrums Putin is reported to be throwing aside, what if the lack of progress was part of the plan? What if this is really just the setup for a nationalistic pep rally fundraiser to build up their military so "this never happens again?"
And the isolation being creating a large pariah state is exactly what Putin wants, cause in his mind it's working so well for NK?
Destabilize World. Cutoff RU from outside influences. And then what? Take Eurasia whole?
I think I need more coffee.
@mcfate OH, I know. There's no way this was what was planned. Someone clearly had very different ideas before all this started. Possibly including the West agreeing with the statement that Ukraine, all history aside, did not actually exist.
Instead, we have today, multiple beautiful cultures with interesting and complex histories being ground up under the heel of a madman and his enablers.
I just hope everyone can save them before it is too late.
Instead, they're running out of literally EVERYTHING while every Ukrainian in sight (or NOT!) is either verbally abusing them or straight-up trying to MURDER them.
@mcfate The lack of anything related to "Plan B" scares me a little bit more than anything else.
What are we facing when Putin suddenly realizes that he's broken the myth he's tried to create the last 22 years?
Probably we're facing him having a very bad accident all of a sudden, I'd say.
@butch
Here's what's happening:
Putin vastly underestimated Ukraine and vastly overestimated his own military.
His plan was that this would be all over in a day, that the Ukrainians would greet them with bouquets as "liberators", and that Zelenskiy would abandon his country and run away.
There's no "Plan B".
