So it begins. My wife just logged into the first day of school. Of course, the day started just after 9 with a panic call from a parent for a student not in her grade, any of her classes, or on her caseload. It's going to be a fun year.

Oh joy. Co-teacher hosed cause the school building she is working from lostbinternet and now their LMS is flagging features off because today added a few million more students and they weren't ready.

Looks like some groups decided to have fun and DDOS a bunch of services schools are using to host virtual today.

@butch That sucks! Good morning and best wishes to the both of you for a decent year.

@MisterE thanks. this is why i took today from the tech job off so I could help provide support to the school team. didn't realize I should have gone into the school to help the hardware team.

@butch Yep. It's unreal how often this type of issue occurs. Capacity should be set up to allow for more resources than what's planned for. When I had to set up a new database for storing data, I would call the vendor and go over their suggested capacity setup. Then, I would add in some pad so that I didn't have to worry about whether there was enough storage. Sounded like the right thing to do, and my manager was the same way.

Good thing you're helping out!
