We must never forget that nazism didnโt start with the gas chambers. It started with political demagogues dividing people with โus vs themโ dehumanizing campaigns. It started with intolerance and hate speech, and when people stopped caring, they became desensitized and turned a blind eye to evil.
Can we please stop with the knee-jerk reactions. It makes for a hostile environ. Don't like what someone said, just hit that mute/block button. Loudly voicing how you don't like people who are hateful, angry, or boring doesn't help. It actually makes you sound like those very things. Nor does broadcasting that you have an itchy mute/block finger if someone so much as thinks about upsetting you. Those who do outrage farming aren't going to care/change. Better to not even give them that attention.
Something I've been thinking about today: conservative boomers act like being homosexual is a new fad that was made up by gen Z, as a means of rebelling against their parents. As if it's not POSSIBLE that there were QUEERS when THEY were young...
It's just infuriating.

In particular, I enjoy when it highlights erasure of lesbian/gay relationships from ancient times or the last hundred or so years (I know, weird pairing). Not bc of the erasure, of course, but bc I love that they failed to erase the truth, that we still know.
That said, I don't think I've ever seen ppl pretend gay/lesbian relationships are a recent fad; they mostly target trans ppl as "trendy".
