Whether its friends or family ... character is everything.
Watching how your friends and family treat other people behind their backs is a clear indicator of who they truly are as people.
If they talk about others, you can imagine how they talk about you to others ...
If they show a mask to other people, they're most likely showing a mask to you too.
How To Explain Socialism Clearly In a Way That Actually Persuades People
โ Socialism is a society whose top priority is meeting all of its peopleโs needs, ranging from food, shelter, and health care, to art, culture, and companionship. In contrast, capitalism only cares about any of that basic human necessities stuff to the extent that money can be made of it.โ Danny Katch

@MisterE Not under skin, no. You have it attached to skin (usually on arm or I think some people put their Dexcom on stomach, but I didn't do that myself).
Honestly these different sensors only run between 10-14 days so it's probably a good thing that they're not under your skin, makes self removal a lot easier.
Maybe one day in our lifetimes we'll have something more permanently under skin...!
Officially on #FreestyleLibre 3 sensors now.
My diabetes team were kind enough to let me trial a Dexcom One sensor and a Libre 3 sensor... and from that trial, I chose Libre 3.
I was so surprised how much extra peace of mind I got from a continous glucose monitor compared to the flash monitoring of Libre 2.

It seems obvious to me that our society doesn't have any solid patterns for teaching people how to deal with emotions in a healthy way.
We talk about emotional intelligence. We use lots of words.
But it feels like people are mostly taught unhealthy coping mechanisms, like denial and suppression, or that some emotions are "bad" and not to have them.
Emotional control is used to control behavior, not deal with the source of the emotions.
That's not healthy.

Hurt people hurt people, but it doesnโt have to be that way. We can break the cycle and create better relationships and communities. When we heal from our past traumas, we can have empathy and love for each other. Walking around with the excess baggage of our pasts is wasted time and energy. #OneLove
I also believe that which works against the survival and betterment of intelligent life is to be opposed and protected against.
So, to me, authoritarianism, monarchies, hierarchical systems of social control of the many by the few are evils.
Diversity is important to all complex systems, especially living and thinking ones.
So bigotry and hatred are evils to me.
Efforts to stop intelligence from advancing are evil to me.
@Cynanthrope @AskTheDevil What you must always remember is, do not be angry at the person who is ill.
They did not choose this.
Be angry at the illness, and at our dreadful mental health care system.
But never lose your love for the person who is unwell, no matter what they do.
it's not a choice they made consciously. And yes it's hard and you need to remind yourself 10, 15, 20 times a day of that fact.
But keep your patience, your belief, and your love.
