Something I've been thinking about today: conservative boomers act like being homosexual is a new fad that was made up by gen Z, as a means of rebelling against their parents. As if it's not POSSIBLE that there were QUEERS when THEY were young...
It's just infuriating.

In particular, I enjoy when it highlights erasure of lesbian/gay relationships from ancient times or the last hundred or so years (I know, weird pairing). Not bc of the erasure, of course, but bc I love that they failed to erase the truth, that we still know.
That said, I don't think I've ever seen ppl pretend gay/lesbian relationships are a recent fad; they mostly target trans ppl as "trendy".
Did I have this on my Instagram bingo card of suggested posts? Nope.
But here we are. I've seen it so you get to too.
Iโm finally ready to break w/a best friend who wasnโt able to make the transition from me being able-bodied & able minded to disabled w/cognitive & speech impediments.
Sheโs so smart, I thought sheโd adjust, as I did when she had kids - but as I read up on ableism, Iโve become too aware Iโve been excusing so much of it & feeling privately hurt - for yrs now.
Iโve tried to talk abt it w/her, but I canโt get thru to her that itโs actually real - even tho she was there for all my brain surgeries.
