I'm not happy to delete my #Twitter account yet because I invested money in 3rd party service to manage it (tweet wiping so I could go public again to help me find more #neurodiverse or #autistic people online - hey y'all!), but I made decision today to uninstall the Twitter app on my phone & only use Twitter on my PC.
I've had Twitter push notifications turned off on my phone for ages, so coming to #CoSo that doesn't have push notifications as standard, wasn't huge shift thankfully! π
@duckysoba Haha yes! Thank you. It's great to be here and nice to meet cha! π I'm only #autistic though have suspicions about possibly being AuDHD sometimes. How did you come to learn? How was your discovery journey?
@duckysoba Hiya, I did see your message. That is super rough π I am glad you're getting answers now and hope you've got healthier boundaries with family. I had to shift mine and even disown one family member, so understand. Thanks for sharing. I hope it is onwards and upwards for you from now on. π
@buta You weren't supposed to see that omg. I thought about it after I hit send and went yikes. Had to do something similar like you, but I still hate to hear that for you honestly. It's something we shouldn't have to do. π« //Same to you too!!
@buta
I've actually made the same decision yesterday. I saw all check mark accounts for the first like 10 or so posts. Un installed right after.
When I learnt of #decentralised social media years ago, I tried places like #Diaspora* (long form) & #Mastodon (microblog), but found them kind of barren in comparison to other social media I was using, especially Twitter. So eventually both accounts got deleted.
I haven't forgotten how these decentralised options operated but I felt wary about going back to them when latest Twitter events happened. Then I came across #CoSo & read its history with #Mastodon. I then wanted to give CoSo a chance.
